Matt grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, in the town of Iron Mountain. He was a three sport athlete in high school as well as a Michigan state champion tennis player and all-state wrestler. He attended Michigan State University where he earned his B.A. in Finance and graduated with highest honors. He then attended Indiana University, School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana and attained his law degree in 2006 with Cum Laude distinction. He is licensed to practice law in California, Indiana and Michigan.
Matt began his legal career in Indianapolis at Price Waicukauski Joven & Catlin, LLC–a nationally recognized firm that represents clients in complex plaintiff’s litigation matters. While employed there, Matt played an integral role in cases that included Medicare anti-kickback law, intra-corporate disputes and toxic tort litigation. Matt then earned his M.B.A. with highest honors from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he was awarded a Dean’s fellowship. Matt then joined the law firm of Gambs, Mucker & Bauman in Lafayette, Indiana, where he was head of the litigation department. In that role, Matt represented plaintiffs in the areas of civil rights, personal injury, commercial litigation and probate disputes. While there, Matt successfully tried numerous cases, first chair, to the bench and a jury.
In 2014, Matt moved to California. Matt now works with the Piccuta Law Group, LLP and is of counsel. His current practice consists of handling civil rights cases, catastrophic personal injury matters and consumer class actions. When he is not hard at work on cases, he likes to stay active and cheer for his favorite sports team, the Green Bay Packers.
