Charles “Tony” Piccuta
Charles “Tony” Piccuta was born in San Francisco, California and raised on the central coast of California. As a youth, he was a champion tennis player who traveled nationally to compete in junior tournaments. Tony earned a full ride athletic scholarship to Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo where he was a captain of the tennis team. Tony graduated from Cal Poly in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and a dual minor in Business and Psychology.
Tony attended law school at Indiana University-Bloomington on a merit scholarship and graduated in 2006 with honors. Tony excelled in law school recording the highest marks in his class for Banking Law, International Contracts and Commercial Transactions. Tony was also an editor on the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies and Vice-President of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. While in law school, Tony became a certified legal intern for the State of Indiana and was one of the few students who made court appearances while earning his law degree.
Tony is licensed to practice law in Arizona, California, Illinois and Nevada. Tony took the bar exam in each of those states and passed each on the first try. Tony is admitted in all state courts in Arizona, California, Illinois and Nevada; all United States District Courts in California; the United States District Court for the State of Arizona; the United States District Court for the State of Nevada; the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Tony started his practice in Chicago, Illinois where he worked for a civil litigation law firm specializing in personal injury and Plaintiff side litigation. While there, Tony independently managed a case load with cases ranging from motor-vehicle accidents to slip and falls. Tony also assisted the senior partners with catastrophic injury cases including medical malpractice, traumatic brain injuries, aviation accidents, child sexual abuse and nursing home neglect. Tony worked there from 2006 to 2008 before making the decision to move back to California.
Upon returning to California, Tony worked at Houser and Allison, APC—a national law firm with over 65 attorneys in eleven offices nationwide. While there, Tony represented corporate and fortune-500 clients in commercial and civil litigation matters in both federal and state court. Tony also managed one of the firm’s regional offices and tried multiple jury trials to verdict. When Tony left Houser & Allison, APC, he was the fourth attorney in tenure. Nevertheless, Tony made the decision to trade his senior position to get back to his original calling—helping individuals in need.
Tony is a principal of the Piccuta Law Group, LLP and established the firm with three goals in mind. First, to create trusted and long-lasting relationships with every client he represents. Second, to work harder and achieve better results than other attorneys would if given the same case and client. Third, to take on challenging matters including cases that most attorneys consider too complex or risky to handle.
Aside from being an attorney, Tony is also a cancer-survivor, triathlete, author, husband, father and step-father. Tony splits his time between Monterey, California and Scottsdale, Arizona. When he is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family or training for his next athletic challenge.
