Charles Tony Piccuta Competes in Olympic Distance Triathlon

On August 14, 2016, Piccuta Law Group attorney, Charles Tony Piccuta, competed in an Olympic Distance Triathlon in Flagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff is at an elevation of over 6,500 feet and Piccuta finished the triathlon in under three and a half hours. An Olympic distance triathlon includes a swim of just under one mile, a bike leg of approximately 25 miles and a 6.2 mile run.

This was the first triathlon that Piccuta competed in since 2013 when he was diagnosed and treated for lymphoma cancer. Piccuta’s cancer went into remission in 2013 and thereafter he began training for and competing in Spartan obstacle course races which include distances over 13 miles. When asked about the recent triathlon, Piccuta commented “It is important to constantly push yourself. I am competitive in everything I do-even with myself. It is probably what makes me a good attorney. I hate to back down and I hate to lose even more.”
