Charles Tony Piccuta Prepares for Trial in Catastrophic Motorcycle Injury Case
This week attorney Charles “Tony” Piccuta of the Piccuta Law Group prepared for trial in the case of Hambrook v. Lafitte pending in the Monterey County Superior Court. The case involves a motorcycle versus automobile collision. In the summer of 2014, the firm’s client was a passenger on a motorcycle on Highway 1 in Moss Landing, California. The driver of the motorcycle attempted to pass on the shoulder of the road and crashed into an automobile that was turning into the parking lot of an artichoke stand abutting the road.
The firm’s client was thrown from the vehicle and suffered a grade 3B open compound fracture of her lower leg. The firm’s client was evacuated by helicopter to San Jose Regional Medical Center where she underwent an emergency surgery. She later developed an infection requiring several other surgeries and was even at risk to have her lower leg amputated at one point.
Trial will begin on April 30, 2018 in front of the honorable Marla O. Anderson. The defendant is represented by David Hirshik of Sentry Insurance. The trial is estimated to last 5-6 days.
