Excessive Force Lawsuit Filed by Piccuta Law Group Receives Local Media Attention
On May 12, 2016, the Monterey County Weekly newspaper published an article about a lawsuit recently filed by the Piccuta Law Group against Monterey County and its sheriffs. The lawsuit alleges that the Monterey County Sheriffs used excessive force on the firm’s client at the 2015 AT&T Pro Am golf tournament in Pebble Beach. The story included a picture of the visible wounds inflicted on the face of the firm’s client and appeared in both print and electronic formats.
The Monterey County Weekly is the most widely circulated periodical in Monterey County. The article published by the paper describes the different positions taken by both sides with respect to the dispute. Those positions will be argued and tested in the Federal District court for Northern California where the lawsuit is pending.
