Piccuta Law Group Attorney, Charles Tony Piccuta, Completes Sacramento Super Spartan Race
On November 7th, 2015, Charles Tony Piccuta, principal attorney of the Piccuta Law Group, completed the Super Spartan Race in Rancho Murieta, California. Rancho Murieta is on the outskirts of greater Sacramento and the race was located on the Van Vleck cattle ranch. The race is an obstacle style course that is 9.1 miles in length and incorporates over 28 obstacles. Think mud run meets military style training course.
The obstacles vary in difficulty and are designed to test all aspects of athletic ability: including balance, muscular endurance, strength, flexibility and stamina. The obstacles include: rope climbs, monkey bars, weighted sled pulls, barb-wire crawls, sandbag hauls, among others. The penalty for failing an obstacle is 30 burpees—which is a combination of an air squat, thrusting plank and push-up.
The race attracted participants of all ages and backgrounds. Over 5000 participants, both male and female, from ages 13 to 96. Despite fighting cramps during the back half of the race, Piccuta completed the race in 2 hours and 33 minutes. That time was good enough to place the 38 year old Piccuta at 120th out of the over 500 male racers in the 35-39 year old group.
