Piccuta Law Group Files New Lawsuit in Santa Clara County Involving Allegations of Excessive Force Used By Retail Loss Prevention Agents
Earlier this month, the Piccuta Law Group filed a new Santa Clara County Lawsuit against Safeway Inc. and U.S. Security Associates, Inc. The lawsuit alleges that plain clothes loss prevention agents of a San Jose Safeway grocery store used excessive force in detaining the firm’s client who was suspected of shoplifting. The firm’s client had his wrist broken by the security personnel despite not resisting the detention.
The lawsuit alleges that the loss prevention agents were negligent, improperly supervised and trained and unlawfully battered the firm’s client. The lawsuit further alleges that the loss prevention agents used unreasonable and dangerous force including a potentially lethal carotid artery choke hold and a wrist lock which resulted in the client’s fractured wrist.
The firm’s client is seeking compensation for his injuries, pain and suffering and medical expenses.
