Piccuta Law Group Starts Jury Trial in Santa Barbara County

This week Charles Tony Piccuta of the Piccuta Law Group started a jury trial in Santa Barbara County. The case involves a car accident where the Plaintiff was injured when a van failed to yield the right of way causing a collision with Plaintiff at a high rate of speed. The van was owned by a Los Angeles based flooring business and was being operated by its employee at the time of the collision.

 
The collision totaled both vehicles and caused injuries to Plaintiff. Plaintiff’s injuries required an emergency room visit, diagnostic testing, multiple doctor appointments and months of physical therapy. The insurance company representing Defendant contested the reasonableness of Plaintiff’s medical treatment, the causation of his injuries and the amount of his damages. As a result, the Piccuta Law Group took the case to trial to allow a jury to determine what fair compensation for Plaintiff is.

    
On Monday the parties selected a jury. On Tuesday the parties put on witnesses and evidence. Today, the parties expect to give closing arguments and jury deliberations will begin.
